About the Artist
Hello everyone!
I go by Ruby (or Rubi, as my username is Rubixa-Seraph.)

As a child, I have always loved to draw, which isn't surprising, since I'm here on
deviantART, aren't I? Well, my story goes down the path of having very restrictive
parents who can't appreciate my passion for art though, so I'm one of those people
who felt like it's life and death when drawing...because if I got caught, I'd be in big
trouble! :ohnoes:

But, Reality Check: I am Chinese, bilingual, live in America. I studied in the field of
computers and worked as a web developer and designer. Currently I live with my lovely boyfriend, Lunar-Oatmeal, and just being another person in the world trying to make a living.

Along with that, I also sing, play the piano, and try out a lot of neat things. I
also love to cook, even though I have probably cooked less than I have drawn
pictures, I can make a very good meal! Just ask my best friend and collaborator,
MoonPhyr! ;P

Butterfly Plushies for Sale!

Journal Entry: Thu Jul 16, 2015, 3:36 PM

Spring Butterfly Plush by Rubixa-Seraph

Hey everyone! I've recently opened an Etsy shop, and I'll be starting with selling plushies.

:bulletgreen:If you're not interested, please at least spread the word. :bulletgreen: Only one person in this house of six is employed and we can't keep up with bills, let alone food!

Please come support me so that I can get more materials to make more things!

These are fluffy, cute, and they are fun for me to make. I'm happy to take requests for variations, and I'm also working on certain new patterns (currently prototyping an owl plushie.) I'm also happy to to art commissions or sticker commissions! You can have the stickers printed from my RedBubble shop, or from my printer on sticker paper. The difference is that home-printer qualities are typically sketchy on sticker paper, and the RedBubble stickers are the only ones that will be waterproof and removable.

On the other hand, I'm ALSO making these because the process for getting a job is very slow right now (It takes at least half a month before the company I applied for closes submissions for applications, at least another week to review applicants and call them for pre-screening, then another week for interviews, and another week for results after everyone is interviewed. I have a GUARANTEED job at the company, but I must still go through certain processes and I'm actually trying to get a BETTER job at that company before I go back to my guaranteed job. The two jobs are in different projects of that company and it's harder to "transfer" from project to project than it is to just apply before you're already working for another project.)

Our bank account also may have to be closed soon because the lack of direct deposit means we have to pay a fee every month. If I can't even keep our bank account up and running, I will have no reliable means of making money before I get employed. Please help support us! I don't ask for charity, because I will make sure there is product in return!

Sorry for the super late reply. It's no problem! I love stitching! If I had the money for the materials I'd be making stuff like that, too! Keep working the threads and needles!

 Thanks again! I know just how it is - I've been slowly massing up materials over the past decade and finally I have enough to get things rolling. :D

I will!! Set aside some thread cash for yourself! :blowkiss:
